On 31 August 2025, Isack Hadjar finished third at Zandvoort, behind Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen. It was his first Formula 1 podium, the first for Racing Bulls, and it made him the youngest French driver ever to stand on one.
The trophy he was handed that afternoon was Delft Blue — cobalt painted by hand on white earthenware, the craft the town of Delft has been firing for centuries. It did not survive the celebration. He broke it, and a second one was made for him.
A year later, that trophy is painted on his helmet. So is the face he made when it came apart in his hands.

Everything on it means something
THE FACE
The figure in glasses is Hadjar. It is the exact expression he pulled the moment the trophy came apart in his hands — and he had it painted next to the trophy, on the back of the helmet, where he cannot see it and everyone behind him can.
THE DELFT TROPHY
The Dutch Grand Prix trophy is Delft Blue, cobalt on white, painted by hand. The lion across its belly is the lion of the Dutch coat of arms.
THIRD
Lower on the shell, a second trophy is drawn in outline. It carries one number: 3. The result that started all of this.
HIS FATHER'S WORK
Bernoulli. Planck. Schrödinger. Dirac. A sum of external forces. Hadjar's father is a quantum physicist, and the equations have followed his son through Formula 1.
Written small, on purpose
His father is a quantum physicist. Isack races with that work on his head: names and equations laid into the blue like handwriting — Bernoulli, Planck, Schrödinger, Dirac, a sum of external forces. They are painted small enough that most people will never read them, which is rather the point.
